AAMI Takes Part in the "Sustainable Development: A Glimpse of the Bay Area" Summit Forum and Asia-Pacific Applied Economics Academic Conference

From October 21st to 22nd, the "Sustainable Development: A Glimpse of the Bay Area" Summit Forum and Asia-Pacific Applied Economics Academic Conference, jointly organized by the Bay Area International Business School of Beijing Normal University and the Asia-Pacific Applied Economics Association, with co-sponsorship from the World Low Carbon Cities Alliance and the Carbon Neutrality Research Center at Tsinghua University's Shenzhen Institute, were held grandly at the Zhuhai Campus of Beijing Normal University.
This forum convened internationally renowned academicians, distinguished experts from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, top executives from large state-owned enterprises and listed companies, gathering together to explore the sustainable development of the Greater Bay Area. The event attracted more than a hundred leading researchers, industry leaders, and young talents from the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau. Leaders from various sectors of the Greater Bay Area converged to share the latest research achievements and practical experiences in sustainable development.
Mr. Cheng Hok Kai, Chief Financial Officer Advanced Assembly Materials International Limited (AAMI), was invited as a keynote speaker to this event. He delivered a speech titled "ESG Construction - Turning Challenges into Opportunities," showcasing AAMI's role as a global leading lead frame supplier actively shouldering the responsibilities of the times, transforming challenges in green development into opportunities. Mr. Cheng shared AAMI's practices, experiences in ESG construction, and the developmental philosophy exploring sustainable innovation in the semiconductor packaging industry.

For instance, Advanced Assembly Materials China Limited (AMC) collaborated with environmental protection departments to accomplish a "Green Road" upgrading AMC, which had a 20-year history of environmental improvements. Advanced Assembly Materials (M) Sdn. Bhd. (AMM) seized the opportunity for environmental improvement, establishing an IETS system using digitization and big data for automated management. By investing in online environmental monitoring facilities, it enhanced the overall ESG level through an environmental policy and cultural system. Additionally, Advanced Assembly Materials Anhui Limited (AMA) actively promoted the construction of photovoltaic power generation projects, practicing the concept of green development to construct a cleaner, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system. Through relentless efforts, AAMI's various production bases have garnered broad recognition across society for their endeavors in green development. For instance, AMC was honored with the titles of "Shenzhen Green Enterprise" and "Sustainable Development Demonstration Enterprise," while AMA received the "City-level Water-saving Enterprise" honor, among others.

On October 9, 2021, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Beijing Normal University decided to establish the Bay Area International Business School. On September 14, 2023, Xia Nong, former Deputy Director of the Industry Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, accompanied by Li Ji Ping, former Director of the Service Industry Department of the Industry Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, visited Advanced Assembly Materials China Limited (AMC) for research discussions. They were accompanied by Yang Dong Xiang, member of the Party Working Committee of Fuhai Street, Bao'an District, and Li Xiao Yan, head of the Deep Hong Kong Advanced Manufacturing Cooperation Zone Office of Fuhai Street.
